History
In response to General Secretary Xi Jinping's personal planning, deployment, and promotion of the national strategy of building the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, in December 2017, representatives from the business community of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao officially established the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance" in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
At the establishment conference, more than 200 business representatives from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Hong Kong, and Macau SAR attended. Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Liang Zhenying, presented the plaque to Alliance Chairman Cai Guanshen. The alliance was jointly initiated by the business community of 9+2 cities in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, bringing together outstanding business representatives from major chambers of commerce, chambers of commerce, and heads of various Chinese general chambers of commerce in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The most representative enterprises in the Greater Bay Area include Tencent, Zhengwei, Huaxun Ark, Huada Gene, Rouyu Technology, Xinyi Glass, Han's Laser, and Haiwang, covering multiple fields from tradition to innovation.
The alliance is committed to creating elite organizations in the business community of the Greater Bay Area, assisting in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and turning the Bay Area into a world-class urban agglomeration and a new platform for high-level domestic and international economic cooperation
Background
In March 2017, during the National Two Sessions, the government work report officially proposed to "study and formulate the development plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration", and the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area was elevated to a national strategy.
On February 18, 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council officially issued the "Outline of the Development Plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area", marking the beginning of the comprehensive implementation phase of the construction of the Greater Bay Area
At present, the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is developing rapidly, with a total economic output of over 13 trillion yuan in 2022. The area has 5 trillion level GDP cities, and the World Intellectual Property Organization ranked second in the global innovation index group for two consecutive years. The "one hour living circle" has been basically formed, making cross-border flow of factors more convenient and efficient.
